FAQ
Mix is nothing more than the process of combining all the individual tracks to create a coherent and well-sounding musical piece. This process involves achieving the optimal sound of the tracks by applying appropriate audio correction, removing noise from the tracks, adding saturation, using dynamic processors (compressor, gate, expander or limiter), time-based effects (reverb and delay) or modulation effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo and vibrato) with appropriate automation.
Only after a properly executed mix does the musical piece achieve its desired sound and is ready for the next stage, which is mastering.
Mastering is the final process, which focuses on achieving optimal sound and preparing the musical piece for distribution. It is a subtle and cosmetic operation on what has already been made. What matters most here is the appropriate use of dynamics and emphasising the most important sound characteristics of the musical piece.
That's a good question – mix and mastering are crucial, because even if a piece is interesting but poorly produced, it won't be noticed or appreciated by e.g. playlist curators on streaming platforms, because, simply put, it doesn't meet the standards.
Another thing is that it would scare listeners away with its quality, which means that users would quickly stop listening to it regardless of how well the piece was composed. This affects the algorithm used by streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, which in the result wouldn't recommend it to other listeners, not to mention the lack of new fans for your music, which may be really good.
A piece with professional mix and mastering gives you a 50-60% better chance of success than a piece without them or made amateurishly. This happens like this, but only in the case if the recorded tracks are in the highest sound quality – even the best mix and mastering of a piece whose audio tracks are recorded in very poor way will not make it noticed by the listeners at all. The key is therefore the top quality of the tracks (appropriate acoustic adaptation, high-quality samples, etc.), and only then mix and mastering.
That is why it is so important for your musical piece to be top-notch in terms of sound quality. This is crucial for success.
The crucial difference between iMIX and mix is:
Mix - we do the entire mix ourselves from start to finish (denoising, clicks and pops removing, EQ, compression, saturation, automation, balance, volume adjustment, etc.). So the mix is entirely our responsibility.
iMIX - on the other hand is an innovative approach to mixing. Here, we prepare audio tracks for you so that you can use them to make your own mix. As the name suggests, ‘iMIX’ means that you actually make the mix, so the mix is up to you.
iMIX may bring to mind the VST plugins using AI or presets, but in reality, none of these ones will denoise your tracks for you, repair them with precision, or give you a 100% guarantee of achieving the sound you want, which would require you to spend many additional hours on their audio production. This is a unique solution that will allow you to quickly complete your mix, saving your time that you can spend to produce new music.
So the difference between mix and iMIX is simple:
Mix - mix is up to us
iMIX - mix is up to you
Stereo Mastering - it focuses on processing a single stereo audio file (in this case, the final mix) to prepare it for distribution to streaming platforms or TV/radio. The main task is to achieve optimal volume and tonal balance for the piece. Stem mastering - on the other hand, focuses on processing individual groups of instruments (stems), providing greater control over the instruments, flexibility and possibilities in terms of tonal balance, depth and clarity before creating the final stereo file. It may resemble mix and mastering in a single process, but not to the same extent as in stem mastering, where automation or effects are not applied to stems, for example.
Your order will be sent to your email address.
No problem! If you have sent us the wrong files for sound engineering, please contact us immediately before receiving the order confirmation email and before we start processing your order (we send a confirmation email within 48 hours of placing your order). Sure! If you are sure that your beat is optimally prepared in terms of mixing, send it to us using our MIX offer, along with the other tracks that require further mixing, and we will take care of the rest. When placing your order, your beat will count as 1 audio track. Just remember that we cannot make any changes in it.
Yes, this is only possible if we have not yet confirmed your order and have not started proceeding it. You will receive an email from us within 48 hours of placing your order. Until then, you are welcome to contact us and request cancellation and a refund.
